About Coburn Fasteners

A family fastener and component supplier since 1986. We consolidate and simplify supply chains for manufacturers and distributors through kitting, sourcing, bespoke processing and vendor managed inventory.

Partnering with industry. Removing supply chain complexity.

Coburn Fasteners is a family business supplying manufacturers and distributors since 1986. We source, stock and supply standard and specialised fastening components, and we consolidate and simplify supply chains in the process.

We supply an average of 1.4 million parts a year and process 10,400 order lines, with a return rate of only 0.01432%. We hold thousands of historical part numbers onrecord for long-standing clients and stock over 4,000 customer parts against their own unique part numbers.

Our services:

Kitting

Kitting

Every component in an assembly is sourced across multiple manufacturers to your specifications and then consolidated into a single build-ready kit, delivered to your point of use. Kits are hand-packed against a bill of materials you sign off before anything is purchased. In addition, kits are checked as they are built rather than only at final inspection. For engineering and procurement teams managing complex assemblies, this removes handling time from the shop floor and admin from the purchasing desk. At peak we process over 100,000 individual kits across more than 100 different assemblies, with standard complex kits often fulfilled within the week.

Sourcing

Sourcing

We find the right component at the right cost without overspecification, including hard-to-find and long-lead items. This means matching materials and processes to the duty a part actually needs to perform in the field, and, holding it in stock for the life of the part so obsolescence and design change does not leave your team exposed. Unit costs and lead times are kept under control.

Bespoke Processing

Bespoke processing

Rather than manufacture parts in house, we manage a network of approved specialist manufacturers to forge, machine, heat treat, coat and finish components to your specification, then hold the validated part in stock. Complex bespoke components are typically turned around in as little as six weeks. We work with a multitude of materials including MP35N, Inconel 718, ToughMet, Titanium and PEEK in virgin, glass-filled and carbon-filled grades, across milling, hot forging, fillet rolling, thread rolling and turned parts. Where a part you’re using is failing, we can step in to analyse your current process and find new [and often less expensive] ways to improve a part’s ability to meet technical requirements

Vendor managed inventory

Vendor managed inventory

We take multiple facets into account - including cost, forecasts, historical parts etc – with regard to creating a bespoke solution for your business and VMI. We hold your parts, with unique part numbers, for as long as you need them. This obsolescence management is handled on your behalf so when a line is discontinued, a design changes, or the person who knew where to source something leaves your company, the stocked part and its record stay with us. Technical knowledge can walk out the door. The part and its history do not.

Quality and Traceability

Coburn Fasteners is an ISO 9001:2015 registered company. Where specified, parts go through full PPAP: dimensional inspection, material verification and mechanical test reporting, with certification and an auditable record back to source. Because we hand-pack rather than machine-pack, every kit is checked against its bill of materials during the build. Costs can only change if a supplier's price changes, and any change means a new bill of materials, checked and signed again before we proceed.

SERVING LOCAL TRADE

Our new Trade Counter

We are proud to announce the opening of our new trade counter for local businesses, which opened in early 2026. Coburn Fasteners has always been a supporter of local business and community, and with this new offering we are very pleased to have created a hub where these ongoing relationships can thrive.

  • Coburn Fasteners is a responsive and reliable supplier that helps SLB efficiently source off-the-shelf and buy-house items. Their support reduces the need to onboard multiple suppliers and simplifies the procurement process and help us improve work efficiency and workload management.

  • When Jeremy approached us and said he could help with our kitting, it suddenly dawned on me just how inefficient our existing process had become. As our product range rapidly expanded, the time and effort involved in sourcing, designing and assembling kits in-house was becoming a real drain on the business.
